MENZEL HABIB SOLAR PROJECT - 130 MW
Voltalia established its presence in Tunisia 2023.
Today Voltalia Tunisia is awarded 03 solar projects (Menzel Habib, Sagdoud and Wadi) for a 100 MW as an average power per project.
Voltalia Tunisia is in the process of developing many new projects in both solar and wind energy.
Voltalia Tunisia is aware of the energy challenges in Tunisia and is working to help achieve the Tunisian government's goals for the energy transition, aiming to reach a share of renewable energy in the electricity mix of 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2035.
Located in Menzel Habib in the region of Gabes in the south of Tunisia, the plant will be completed in 2027, and its production will represent a volume equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 43,000 homes, avoiding more than 117,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
This new construction is fully in line with Voltalia's mission, with a positive impact on both the environment and the local community.
Local labour will be employed both for construction and for operational monitoring of the plant.
Voltalia has made strong socio-economic commitments for the upliftment of the local communities around the project site, which will be implemented during the operational period.
